Don Smith is an Australian educator, youth leader, and author whose passion for developing Christ-centered leadership in young people has influenced thousands around the world.
For decades, Don served within the Boys’ Brigade movement, where he pioneered the Leadership Development Course (LDC) — a structured pathway that challenged young men to grow through teamwork, service, reflection, and spiritual discovery.
His work shaped an entire generation of youth leadership training across Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. His writing — most notably Growing Young Leaders — captured the essence of mentoring young people not just to manage others, but to lead themselves under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Don’s approach became the foundation of Leadership USA, and ultimately inspired the creation of The Leadership Course in America — ensuring that the principles of servant leadership, spiritual formation, and kingdom responsibility continue to transform lives across nations.
