Serving with the Leadership Course since 2018, Ken Plunkett has mentored young men and their fathers with a boots-on-the-ground, servant-leader approach. His two sons are Leadership alumni, a living testament to how deeply he believes in the mission—young men meeting Jesus, encountering His presence, being transformed, and walking in lifelong relationship.
Ken is the Chief of Police for the City of Escondido and a career law-enforcement leader with 27+ years of service. Previously a Police Captain in West Covina, he held command over Patrol Operations and Investigative & Support Services, and has led in SWAT operations, Field Training, Internal Affairs, Professional Standards, and technology systems. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Cal State Long Beach and is a graduate of the POST Command College (Class 67)—formation that shapes how he builds teams, develops young leaders, and strengthens communities.
